DIY Laundry Detergent

Making your own laundry detergent is easier than you would think. With a few ingredients and a little patience, you can make your own detergent that is not only a great way to wash your dirty clothes, but also is more natural! You control the ingredients, so you control the results. If you want to make your own laundry detergent, you will need a food processor, a spoon and storage containers. And for ingredients, you will need:

1/2 cup borax

1/2 cup of washing soda

1 bar natural soap

3 drops essential oil (optional - for scent)

 

To make your own soap, here's what you need to do. First, shave a bar of soap. Using either a food processor or cheese grater, shave entire bare of soap into flakes.

Next, mix ingredients with hands or in food processor. Make sure the ingredients are mixed well.

Store in an airtight container, using 2 tablespoons per load of laundry.
