It's the new year! So it's time for everyone to get sick, right?
It doesn't have to be. While it seems that winter provides a
perfect opportunity for germs to spread, there are some ways you
can be proactive in taking care of yourself. Don't want to end up
with the flu? Here are five easy tips on how to stay healthy this
Wash your hands. We know, it's obvious. But you just can't
say it enough. Your hands touch everything from door
knobs to phones to keys. It's not so surprising that germs are
everywhere. So, wash your hands often. And wash them at least as
long as it takes you to sing "Happy Birthday!"
No touching! Like we said, germs spread fast and the
easiest way for you to germs into your system is through your face.
So keep your hands away from your nose, eyes and mouth.
Clean. Use disinfectant when you need to. Wipe down the surfaces
you and others touch regularly. If you get sick, be sure to change
your sheets and throw your toothbrush out. Start back with a clean
and fresh environment and hopefully you won't be getting sick
Stay home. Of course, you can't just become a hermit to
stay well, but it can help to be a little anti-social. The
crowds out there can spread germs, so if you don't have to be out,
it might pay to stay home!
Take care of yourself. Get sleep. Eat smart. Try to relax. These
things will allow you to be your healthiest and can help keep
your immune system in fighting shape!
